I am excited to be a vendor at the Perry Harvest Fair this weekend. It is a chance to get a little exposure and introduce my work to the area. There are some very experienced quilters here so we’ll see what comments I receive. I’m taking some handwork with me and may be able to jump start my journal quilting again.

My mom and I have a running joke that if we didn’t have other people to care for in our families, we’d just keep on sewing and quilting and not stop until we were really, really hungry. When I’m in my groove, I hate realizing that it is 4:30ish and time to start thinking of a plan for dinner. Worse yet is having to stop to start prepping if it is an involved meal. Nevertheless, one must eat and I do love food.

I recently found a phenomenal food blog that I find myself going to again and again. Smitten Kitchen is wonderful and I highly recommend it to anyone. I’m not sure how long she’s been at it, but any ingredient I’ve searched for produces a great dish. Scrolling above or below my find reveals more tastier recipes. Knowing she’s producing all this in a small kitchen is inspiring. Her writing has actually made me laugh out loud and the eye candy photography is also really nice. All in all a great site.

Since she recently had a baby, I’m not sure when she’ll start with updated blogs. But, trust me, there is enough there to keep you cooking for months while you crank out your next masterpiece. At least that is my dinner plan.
